A Form Two student accused of stabbing a classmate to death over a flash disk will remain in custody for a week to enable the police conclude investigations.
The 14-year-old appeared before court on Thursday, but did not take a plea after investigating officer, Hillary Kerich, sought time to conclude investigations.
Kerich said he needs to ascertain if the accused is mentally stable to face murder charges.
The accused, a student at Lugusi Secondary, is said to have stabbed Austin Dissi in the neck.

The victim died on his way to Malava sub-county hospital.
The suspect is said to have attacked Dissi after he failed to pay for the flash disk he had sold to him.
He is said to have asked for Sh1,000 but Dissi had only paid Sh400.
“I am yet to conduct age and psychiatric assessments as well as the postmortem on the deceased's body. For these reasons, I urge that the suspect remains in the police custody to aid in the investigations,” read Kerich's affidavit.
The case will be mentioned on October 25.
