On Thursday, April 12 Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria presented cheques to 17 women groups – beneficiaries of the county’s Uwezo Fund.
He was accompanied by President Uhuru’s daughter Ngina Kenyatta.
Through a post on his official Facebook page, Kuria shared pictures of the event, where groups of women can be seen happily accepting the cheques.

He also pledged to partner with Inuka in rolling out the Maisha Kilimo Project in Kahuguini Primary School.
Here’s Moses Kuria’s post:
“Today I presented cheques to 17 women groups, beneficiaries of the Gatundu South Uwezo Fund. The groups are members of the Inuka Women Self Help Initiative which was founded and has been nurtured by the Kenyatta Trust. To further support the groups, I pledged to partner with Inuka in rolling out the pilot for Maisha Kilimo Project in Kahuguini Primary School. Maisha Kilimo is a partnership between Moses Kuria Foundation, Gatundu South CDF, public schools and community groups whereby the community groups will use idle land in public schools for farming in dairy, poultry, chicken, greenhouse and other crops.”

Some questioned why she was present at the event, even going on to conclude that she could be on her way into the political scene. However, some don’t think so – appreciating her for showing support to women in the area:
