Ignore the fake news, I am well- CoG Chair Josphat Nanok

The Council of Governors (CoG) has dismissed claims that their Chairman Hon. Josphat Nanok was involved in an accident. The CoG through their official Twitter handle asked Kenyans to ignore the news terming them as ‘fake news’.

“Please ignore the fake news that CoG Chairman has been involved in an accident. Hon Josphat Nanok is currently visiting the Late H.E Dr Wahome Gakuru's family in Runda to condole with them,” read the tweet.

The CoG Chairman also went ahead and confirmed the same on his twitter handle that he was not involved in any accident.

“I am well. Ignore the fake news that I was involved in an accident,” tweeted the chairman.

On Tuesday 7 November, Kenyans woke up to the sad news that Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuri died after he was involved in a freak accident along the Thika-Murang'a road heading to Nairobi for a talk show.

The late Governor will be buried after his son finishes doing his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams at Alliance School.

The Nyeri Governor becomes the second governor to die in office after Former Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua died while receiving treatment in London.
