Nakumatt staff members are on strike and demonstrating along Mombasa road heading to their main offices. It is alleged that the Nakumatt staff members are striking due to delayed salaries payment for both June and July.
The Nakumatt management in a memo said that it would pay its employees in installments of 30 per cent, 40 per cent and 30 per cent over a period of three weeks. This is what was said in the demo;
“The company has reviewed salary payment plans with an intention of ensuring that every employee gets a percentage of his/her salary every for a total of three weeks in a month.”
