Four female hawkers have landed in trouble over claims that they assaulted a customer.

Hannah Waitherero Mathai, Felister Wanjiru Wanja, Beatrice Karimi Njeri and Jenifer Wanjiru Njeri are accused of attacking Fridah Nkatha Kamau on August 12 last year.

The four appeared before Honourable M Malingu. According to court records, the complainant was walking along Mfangano Street looking for a jacket.

At some point, she stopped to check some that were hanged outside a stall where the accused persons operate from.

It is stated that Nkatha told one of the sellers that she was looking for a new jacket. This led to a war of words between her and the sellers.

The war of words later degenerated into a fight where the four accused jointly and unlawfully assaulted Nkatha, who is said to have sustained some injures after she was allegedly kicked and her arms twisted before she was rescued.

She later reported the matter, was issued with P3 form and recorded statement. The three denied charges before a Makadara court.

They were released on Sh10,000 cash bail each and the case will be mentioned on March 7, 2022.
