Kakamega, Kenya: Five pupils from Marula Primary School in Lugari are undergoing treatment at Mautuma Hospital after a wall collapsed injuring them following whirl winds.
The tragic incident disrupted after noon lessons.
The school head teacher Shadrack Mukonyi said the incident occurred around 1.40 pm Monday na dpupils were forced to conduct lessons under a tree shade.
“Some of the pupils fainted and while others suffred head injuries when the wall collapsed and roofs blown away by wild wind. We have been forced to combine Standard Four and Standard Six pupils in one classroom because of the harsh weather. We are calling for well-wishers to help us construct new classes,” Mukonyi said.
The injured students are reported to have been resting after taking their lunch, when the incident occurred.

Mukonyi urged pupils to be cautious because strong winds are unpredictable.
He also called on officers from health department to come and access the buildings if they are safe for use.
