MOMBASA COUNTY: The High Court siting in Mombasa has thrown away an application that sought to challenge Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s academic qualifications.
A three-judge bench delivered the decision to drop the proceedings of the case.
Justices Christine Meoli, Edward Muriithi and Martin Muya ruled on a preliminary objection by Joho opposing the hearing of a petition filed by Mr Silas Otuke.
In the case, the petitioner claimed the governor does not have a degree, which is a requirement for the position, and wants his appointment and that of his deputy nullified.
He also wanted all nominations and appointments by the two to be declared null and void.
