Kiambu, Kenya: Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has refuted claims that he refused to appear before the Senate Finance Committee to respond to allegations of misappropriations of funds.
Mr Kabogo accused the Senate of cancelling his scheduled meeting with the committee at the eleventh hour.
After the cancellation, he later sent his deputy and the Executive Officer for Finance to respond to questions raised by the Auditor General. The officers were turned away by the Senate.
The governor said he can account for all the money received from the national government, adding that his government was ready to answer to all queries raised by the Auditor General in his report.
