Nyeri, Kenya: Tetu MP Ndung'u Gethenji has accused Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua of being party to a clique championing regime change by calling for a national referendum.
Gethenji said Nyeri MPs have vowed to do everything to ensure the governor and like-minded leaders abandon the referendum push.
Speaking in Tetu when he accompanied Natural Resources Cabinet Secretary Judi Wakhungu on a tour of projects in the area, Gethenji said the MPs would not allow the governor to campaign in Nyeri for the referendum, which is also being propagated by the Opposition.
"We will be a vanguard of Jubilee administration," said Gethenji.
