My style is…

Sleek and fitting. I like Smart casual ties, extraordinary colours and skinny jeans.

Right now I am wearing a lot of…

Cardigans and ties.

Are you into trends?

When we travel with Sauti Sol, we visit a lot of fashion capitals like Amsterdam, London and Stockholm where cardigans and ties are the trend of the moment, I have to keep up.

Which country has the best street fashion?

Holland was just the coolest. They are not afraid of going all out with colours and their dressing, hairstyles and they even take matching fabrics seriously.

So do you consider fabrics when dressing?

I have to, it really matters what fabrics I wear with what. It is just wrong to wear, for example linen trousers with linen jackets or khaki shirts with khaki trousers, the look simply becomes too much.

I was a walking fashion disaster when I wore…

The Gangster look. Before I changed my look four years ago, I used to dress in baggy ‘homie’ jeans and big T-shirts. When I look at those photos right now, I am in shock. I can’t even stand the look right now, if you are looking to look bad, then dress like that and wear Air Force One sneakers.

If I could go back in time I’d go back to…

The 1960s. It was the trendiest era, with checked pants, suspenders, slim ties and the specs. I am already wearing the slim ties and the geek specs.

I can’t get enough of…

Colours. From orange sweaters, to red, green and even yellow shoes. I buy colours a lot and later try pairing them to see how they will turn out.

I’m inspired by…

The British look, I am simply in love with European style.

Kenyan guys should….

Step up in the fashion department because there is a lot in a look. Looks can provide you with opportunities. They should also take are of their health, get into a gym and get toned up.

Style mantra?

Don’t have reservations, go all out with fashion, fashion is an art like music and you should be able to express yourself through it.
