Leaders Gor Mahia and Kakamega Homeboyz will face off today at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega in a top of the table clash that will highlight round 10 matches of the FKF Premier League.

Both Gor and Homeboyz are unbeaten after eight matches and are tied at the top of the standings with 18 points same as KCB who played against City Stars yesterday.

Homeboyz are unbeaten at Bukhungu this campaign leading up to the explosive fixture which has seen Gor dominate in the past four fixtures winning three and Homeboyz one.

However, in the last three matches pitting Homeboyz and Gor at Bukhungu Stadium, both sides have won once while one game was a draw.

The Kakamega fixture is always explosive and chaotic scenes marred the meeting between the two sides in January last year when Homeboyz beat Gor 2-1 and a tight match is expected considering a win will see either side go top with the other losing its unbeaten record.

Both sides will be going into the game having recorded draws against Bandari and Bidco United last weekend respectively but Gor tactician Mark Harrison is keen to rectify.

Harrison, who rested leading scorer Benson Omalla (four goals) is expecting his charges to score more goals after shooting blanks last week.

“We have had problems of creating chances and not using them. We are always giving our opponents advantage and allowing them to possess the ball. However, we have had good training sessions and I believe we can rectify and get goals,” Harrison said.

Homeboyz have gone two matches without a win having also salvaged a last minute 2-2 draw against Mathare United on December 8.

Meanwhile, struggling AFC Leopards, who have just won two matches, will also be out to rekindle their season as they tackle newly promoted FC Talanta at Kasarani.

Ingwe dropped points against bottom-placed Vihiga Bullets after the later forced a 1-1 draw at Bukhungu last weekend and they will be hoping to turn around their poor start to the campaign with victory against Talanta.

In Nakuru, bottom-placed Vihiga Bullets travel to face Ulinzi Stars with an aim of registering their first win of the season.

Bullets are winless after nine matches while Ulinzi are 10th.

Tomorrow, champions Tusker face Nzoia Sugar.
