Kenya Netball Federation president Immaculate Kabuthia (pictured) has dismissed reports that the team was stranded in Cape Town, South Africa.
Kabuthia insisted that the Government ensured that the team was well catered for before participating in the 2019 Africa Netball Championship in S.A.
“The Government paid for our accommodation, visas, tournament fee and the air tickets. The accommodation and meals were all catered for by the Government,” Kabuthia said on Friday.
She also rubbished the allegation that a Cameroonian well-wisher bought them milk and bread and offered to accommodate them.

“We were in a hotel called Fomo Lodge. The team never fed on bread and milk. We used to have bread, eggs. Most of the times we had meat for breakfast and chicken for supper.”
Kabuthia added: “We also want to thank CS Amina Mohamed and Sports Principal Secretary Kirimi Kaberia for helping this federation. The federation was dead.”
The Kenyan girls lost to continental giants South Africa, Malawi, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia with their only win being 74-24 against Lesotho.
