Mathare United coach Francis Kimanzi is not worried of Posta Rangers’ defensive meanness and approach ahead of tomorrow’s round eleven Kenyan Premier League match at Camp Toyoyo.

Despite both team’s coming off quite different results, Rangers have been considered one of the sides with a formidable defence in the recent past.

While Mathare bottled up Tusker 1-0 to open a point gap (23) over their closest rivals and champions Gor Mahia, the mailmen crashed to a 1-0 defeat to Zoo Kericho.

The seventh placed mailmen have conceded seven and scored ten goals in their first ten fixtures and Kimanzi expects an interesting game tomorrow when Rangers’ backline come face to face with the free-scoring Cliff Nyakeya-led attack.

“It is not a tough game for us, but since they (Rangers) have the best defence that means they play with a lot players behind the ball because they also don’t score many goals,” Kimanzi said.

“Actually, I am not worried about them and my players are very happy to play such a team because they don’t score and concede, but we concede and score.

“So, it will be a very interestingmatch and it is a challenge to my players, they have talked about it and they are ready for the match.

“But for me,  I am worried with a team that doesn’t concede and score.” Nakumatt will today begin their life with a new sponsor, politician Francis Mureithi, when they tackle Kariobangi Sharks in an early kick off (2pm) match in Machakos.

The bottom-placed side will be hoping to end their five-game losing streak after it was reportedly bought out by Mureithi from Nakumatt Holdings.

“I have had great relationship with Nakumatt owners and that’s I decided to buy it,” Mureithi told The Standard Sports.

“The boys are motivated and our target is to ensure we remain in the league this season by signing seven new players in June then plan for 2019.”

AFC Leopards and Zoo Kericho will play at 4:15pm.
