"It is the dream of every player to don the national team colours. It feels great to be back in the team. This will also improve my profile and make it is easy for me to bargain for foreign deals," a delighted Chemos told The Standard Sports.
Head coach Moses Epoloto has handed the youthful quartet of Meshack Wambua (Prisons Mombasa), Linus Sang (Administration Police), Matui Kipchirchir and Martin Kiptoo (Nairobi Water) their maiden call-ups to the national team.
Most players in the 20-man squad are from national champions Prisons Kenya and rivals General Service Unit. The team will report to the raining camp at Nyayo Stadium today.
Prisons and GSU have produced six players each and Nairobi Water have three.
“It was not easy coming up with this squad, but we believe those who were selected deserved the chance as they have proven to be the best players we have in the country. We will trim the squad to 14 next week,” team manager Ismael Chege said.
