From the poverty-stricken streets of Nairobi to the ritzy promenades of England, Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama endured a voyage that would fracture most young players' ambitions.
Like most boys in Africa, who start their football careers with balls made from plastic bags and rubber bands on bare pitches or streets, Wanyama’s case is no different.
His story is one of rags to riches in a video posted on YouTube titled “The Lion of Muthurwa”.
In the video, Wanyama revealed his tireless efforts and genuine love of football, and also hardship to become a global footballing star.
