Metropolitan rugby 15s champions Upper Hill ‘Uppah’ won their second match of the competition with a 14-3 win over Bungoma High booking their place in the semi-finals.
Uppah had humiliated Aberdare Region’s Mang’u 29-3 in their opening match. Bungoma on the other hand had a convincing 57-9 win over St Georges from Coast.
Upper Hill captain Phares Mbadi said that they will keep on fighting with the aim of emerging champions at the end of the schools competition.
“The fight is still on and our approach is still the same, a victory at a time without wavering and we will achieve our objective which is to leave this place as champions,” Mbadi said.
Johnstone Olindi was the top scorer for Upper Hill with nine points from three penalties while Tonny Nyakundi scored a try. In another pool B match Mang’u beat St Georges 21-6.

In pool A, Maseno registered their first win in a 21-3 triumph over Kangaru while Kakamega sealed their semi-finals slot with a 10-3 win against Moi Sirgoi.
In hockey, national champions Narok High boys recovered from their 1-0 loss to Kamusinga in their opening match to beat Maseno School 2-0 in pool A.
In the another pool A match homeboys Kamusinga beat Ndururumo of Aberdare 3-1 to book a slot in the semis.
In girls hockey, Tigoi humbled 2014 champions St John’s Kaloleni 3-1 while Misikhu beat Moi Girls Nairobi 2-0 to reach the last four.
Former champions Kerugoya beat Gategi 3-0 to also secure their place in the last four. East Africa champions Sinyolo Girls bounced back from the loss to St John’s to beat rivals Kapkolei 2-1.
