Lilly Chepngetich Ngok is the new Deputy Governor for Kericho County.
Ms Ngok who was serving as the County Executive Committee (CEC) member for Education, Sports and Social Services replaces the late Susan Kikwai who died on March 20th due to Covid-19 complications.
In a letter dated March 25th sent to the Speaker of the Country Assembly Dominic Rono, Governor Chepkwony stated that he had taken into account that the late Kikwai hailed from the Kipkelion East sub-county and hence the nomination address continuity in the elective seats and gender balance in his administration.
“I can confirm that the nominee meets all the requirements for the nomination for the seat and has all the qualifications, leadership qualities, and compete necessary for such a demanding job,” he said.
Governor Chepkwony stated further that he had made the nomination according to article 182(2) of the Constitution as read with Section 32(C) and 32 (D) of the County Government Act No. 11 and Section 22,25 and 26 of the Elections Act, 2011.
