Kericho Police Commander James Mugera said Jesca Chesang a local tea picker reportedly picked a quarrel with 62-year-old Joseph Kimutai Sang over her daily wage before allegedly stabbing him with a knife in the back and fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred at Kabarus village of Cheborge Location in Bureti sub-county and was reported to police at 10:40pm Thursday night.
"Chesang went to Sang to demand Sh150 she was owed as the day's wage. When he failed to pay her immediately, an argument ensued between them before she stabbed Sang and fled," said Mugera.
The victim was rushed to the AIC Mission Hospital by members of the public but died minutes after arrival.
