Kericho; Kenya: The county government has released Sh59 million to clear school fees balances for 17,000 bright but needy students.
Speaking in Sosiot as the cheques were issued to various school heads in Belgut constituency, Governor Paul Chepkwony said his administration would ensure that bright students did not drop out of secondary school, college or university due to lack of fees.
He said the county had set aside Sh90 million to pay secondary school fees for this year's KCPE exam candidates from poor families who would admitted to "notable schools".
