Naivasha, Kenya: Senior police officers have questioned the move by Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to withdraw all police roadblocks in the country.
The officers noted that this had contributed to the Westgate incident where tens of Kenyans died and others were injured.
The officers who declined to be named said the move had given criminals leeway to transport weapons easily in and across the country.
“We don’t know how this decision was reached but it has contributed to an increase in cases of crime in the country,” said one of the officers.
