NAKURU, KENYA: Former President Moi has asked Kenyans not to neglect bright students who have financial challenges.
Speaking at Kabarak University where he is also the Chancellor, the former president said there was need for those advantaged to be mindful of the less fortunate.
Mr Moi regretted that many young people have been forced to drop out of school because of lack of fees.
He urged Kenyans not to wait for the Government to solve such problems and instead look for possible solutions among themselves.

He said the Government always gave back to the society what it had collected as taxation and cannot always be expected to assist.
“What citizens get from the Government is what they have contributed and when the people are poor then their Government is also poor and they should expect nothing,” he said. Moi said Kabarak University is committed to building an endowment fund kitty for the needy students.
