Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has gazetted the 10 pm to 4 am curfew to run from Tuesday, October 5 to October 31, 2021.
In the Gazette Notice, referred to as the Public Order (State Curfew) Order, No. 7 of 2021, the minister said: “The Order bars public gatherings, processions or movements either alone or as a group during the period of the curfew except when permitted in writing by the police in charge of a police division or sub-county.”
Only essential service providers will be allowed to operate outside the curfew hours, the CS said.
Those listed as essential service providers include health workers, security officers, licensed pharmaceutical companies, licensed media houses, KRA staff, airport and licensed aviation service providers, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority employees, Kenya Ports Authority staff members and licensed port operators, food and farm produce transporters, fire response teams, among others.

The gazettement comes a day after Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the ban on night movement would remain in place for another 30 days to allow Kenyans more time to get the Covid-19 jab.
So far, 3.87 million Kenyans have been vaccinated against the virus, with 917,000 fully vaccinated, while 2.94 are partially inoculated.
