Vehicles found operating along non-designated areas within the central business district will be impounded and operators charged in court.
The Nairobi County Council will now exercise its powers to make sure the vehicles begin to operate from the Bus Park.
This follows an application by a bus company, MetroTrans Limited, seeking leave for judicial review orders to prohibit the county government officers from frustrating the public service vehicle operators along the bus stops, bus lay-ups and termini on the Race Course and Mwiki routes.
High Court Judge George Odunga sitting in a Nairobi Court ordered the matatus operating illegally in the said areas of the CBD to exit.
