The dream boards have become more and more common with trainers across the divide. These trainers advise people to write down all your goals and aspirations. The board captures the limits of your imagination, and displays the future as you desire it to be.

Dream boards are used as a constant reminder of the distance one needs to travel to get where one needs to be, the amount of effort you have to expend and the sacrifices you must make to become what you really want to be.

Having such a board is important since it allows you to appreciate the importance of having a successfully career life. A great career means you can raise a family in relative comfort, live in a good neighborhood, have a good share of investments, contribute positively to society and leave a good legacy.

So what should feature on your dream board?

Its best to include everything you want to accomplish in your life since your career sets the tone for your life in general. This  includes your chosen profession, desired growth pattern and timelines as well as income expectations in the dream board. You should also factor in additional training required, and even feature the associated costs.

To make the board more inspiring and attractive, add visual images. These could be the ideal family, that dream car or house, as well as your favorite holiday destinations. You can also include the desired education for your children, investment vehicles, spiritually growth, physical health and expected contribution to the society you live in.

Promises

By referring to the board, you keep your dreams alive, and stay energised and motivated to move on.

In the difficult times when you are tempted to give up, it will remind you of the promises you made to yourself, your family and society, and ensure that there is no room for failure.  The dream board will also help you develop persistence, perseverance and an unstoppable desire to succeed. It will dictate how and why you do what you do on a day-to-day basis.

A life without dreams is like a ship without a rudder that risks getting lost in the high seas. Your life is too precious to waste in a dreamless and directionless wander.
