Mbeere North MP Muriuki Njagagua wants parts of the Sh1.6 billion set aside to promote miraa production given to muguka farmers.
He also wants muguka growers incorporated in the task force the government formed to enhance miraa farming.
"Embu is a major producer of muguka variety of khat and should, therefore, be given Sh330 million of the allocation," said Njagagua when he hosted Mbeere Muguka Sacco members in Siakago on Saturday.
Muguka farmers are unhappy that they have been left out of plans to revamp miraa.
