Shock as a peasant farmer's sheep is killed by a ruthless bloodsucker

Crying peasant in Elgeyo Marakwet now accuses Kenya Wildlife service (KWS) of their slow paced action on emergency as a wild flesh-eater feast on her sheep.

Linah Kipyego, a resident of Tambul Village in Keiyo south sub-county lost her 12 sheep to a night predator which left other four sheep lame.

The hardworking mother who solely relies on the ruminants for a living said that she was awakened by her dogs who barked incessantly over yesterday night incident.

She explains how she almost collapsed upon seeing her livestock killed by a ruthless blood-sucker who varnished within no time.

He says her effort to reach the Kenya wildlife service never rescued the condition as they delayed to step at the scene on time.

Her sentiments were echoed by Kapyemit ward administrator, Chesire Ayabei, who says he got the report over the incident today morning, only to reach the scene when the carnivore had accomplished its sad mission which prompted the locals to arm themselves and pursue the cat in question.

The administrator urged the angry residents to halt the hunt as they wait for the county based Kenya Wildlife Service team to investigate and plot moves to trap the wild animal.

Meanwhile, Elgeyo Marakwet county acting Kenya wildlife Service warden, John Ngalia, says they have staged investigations and currently pursuing the predator.
