Kenya on Sunday recorded 366 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country's caseload to 151,653, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has said.
Of the confirmed cases, 354 are Kenyans, while 12 are foreigners. In terms of gender, 151 are women and 215 men. The youngest is a three-month-old baby while the oldest is aged 86.
Nairobi has 177 cases, Nakuru 19, Machakos 11, Kiambu 23, Kajiado 42, Uasin Gishu 24, Kitui 19, Kilifi 20, and Mombasa 12. Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Kisii and Nyandarua had two cases each.
CS Kagwe confirmed that this was from a sample size of 3,664 representing a positivity rate of 10.0 per cent. The country's fatalities have risen to 2,481 after another 18 patients succumbed to the disease.
According to the CS, one fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, two on diverse dates within the last one month, while 15 are late death reports from facility record audits that occurred on diverse dates. The total fatalities since March 2020 when the first case was confirmed in Kenya now stand at 2,481.

Kagwe said there are 1,620 patients currently admitted to various hospitals across the country. Another, 5,832 patients are on the home-based care programme, a total of 254 patients are in ICU, out of which 56 are on ventilatory support.
Also, 155 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 204 are in general wards and 14 in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Meanwhile, 280 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 207 were from the Homebased care program while 73 were discharged from various health facilities. Total recoveries now stand at 101,642.
