Staff from FMD East Africa donated footballs to students in two schools in Cherangany as part of the company’s CSR initiative. FMD East Africa Managing Director Fergus Robley said they hope to give more youngsters an opportunity to play football.
“These children show good ball control and obviously have the potential to become players in local teams and perhaps to be selected for major Kenya league teams and even reach international status.” He added: “Taking note of the potential for the development of football in schools with limited resources all over Kenya, my colleagues and I decided to include the donation of footballs in the company’s CSR programme.
We started with two schools in Cherangany and the donation of five balls to each school was received with great enthusiasm,” he said.
Robley said FMD aims to give more youngsters the opportunity to play the world’s most popular team game.
