My friend JT will never cease to amaze. In fact, life as we know it in the neighbourhood will cease to exist if JT ever becomes sane.

Few people would turn a religious sermon into a tool with which to browbeat their mates. But again, this is JT we are talking about. Listen to his interpretation of the religious minister’s sermon last weekend.

“Malcolm, I have just discovered the secret to my family’s happiness. I have decoded the missing link as explained by the minister last Sunday. His sermon was based on the book of Genesis. You know that this is the first book of the Bible and tells of how good life was for the first dude, Adam. If you have read your Bible carefully, then you know that Adam, together with his mama, Eve, were given some straightforward commands. One, the pair was not to eat a certain fruit since that would signal their demise. Two, they were instructed to be fruitful, become many and fill the earth.

Now Malcolm, I have no problem with the first command. I do not know the type of fruit they were not supposed to eat. In any case they failed on that one and died. But I have an issue with the second one. Why do mamas behave as if God was wrong in making procreation an important part of our culture? Why do some of us have to beg for what is ours by divine right?

You see God actually put the two fellows in a beautiful garden that had no distractions. Adam and Eve did not have marriage counsellors by the dozen as is the case today. How I look forward to the time ‘these people’ will come to their senses and see the light – give us our dues unconditionally.”

If JT is not going insane, then someone needs to define what sanity is.
