Jamaican reggae sensation Chris Martin is in Kenya for the highly anticipated Sounds From Africa Concert set to rock Uhuru Gardens on February 8, 2025.

While fans are excited to see him perform live, his arrival comes with a side serving of controversy, his latest track, "Wife & Sweetheart," has sparked major debate online.

Taking to Instagram, the star excitedly announced his return: "KENYA...My +254 Family ??!!! It's been a long time and I'm so excited we're gonna connect again soon!!! It's like an early birthday gift for me... See you on the 8th of February 2025 at Uhuru Gardens."

However, it's his lyrics, not just his presence, that have everyone talking.

In "Wife & Sweetheart," Chris Martin boldly explores a relationship dynamic that most people would consider impossible, having both a wife and a side chick who not only accept each other but get along and even go on dates together.

He sings, "If I could have my way, I could live like the great King Solomon in modern day. I wish my wife and sweetheart could become friends, and when we're going on a date, I wish I could bring the both of them..."

If that sounds familiar, it's because this isn't the first time Chris Martin has serenaded fans with tales of romantic mischief.

Chris Martin's song Cheater's Prayer, he prayed: "Oh Lord, don't let me cheat on my girlfriend... but Lord, if you can't stop me from cheating, just don't let me get caught."

Fast-forward to 2025, and it seems Martin has leveled up, not praying to avoid cheating, but rather hoping his women will just accept it.

The song with a catchy tune to it has drawn hilarious, savage, and thought-provoking reactions.

"This will only happen in a music video," wrote a fan on the trending YouTube video that has already amassed over 200,000 views,

Here's what some fans had to say:

"Remember, this is the same guy who begged God to stop him from cheating. Now he's wishing his wife and side chick to be friends!"

Another fan cheekily quipped, "This man is out here manifesting world peace in the most chaotic way possible!"

"Your wife should be your sweetheart. No need for two women in your life."

"This can only happen if one is six feet under and the other is serving a life sentence."

Others took a different stance, advocating for polygamy:

"They should both be your wives. When done correctly and with respect for everyone, it can work."

"I wish my husband and my forever love would be friends. It's too much work to be creeping!"

Whether "Wife and Sweetheart" is a playful fantasy or a controversial take on relationships, the reggae star has successfully stirred up the internet just in time for his Kenyan concert.
