Two brothers in Butula sub-county are in custody after beating up their elder brother who attacked their mother over food.
According to the DCI, the deceased, 32, got home drunk at around 8pm and demanded food from his mother.
“When she responded that food was not ready, the 32-year-old son descended on her with blows and kicks leaving her wailing in despair, for dear life,” wrote the DCI.
At this point, her other sons Pascaliano Odhiambo, 29 and Bonventure Ouma, 19, immediately rushed to rescue their mother and found Juma assaulting her.
They allegedly gave him a thorough beating before retiring to bed.

On Thursday morning their mother went to check up on Juma and was shocked to find him motionless at the doorstep of his house.
“The mother woke up and walked towards Juma’s house to check on him, despite having been assaulted by him the previous night. She was however shocked to find him lying dead on the doorstep of his house, with a deep cut inflicted on his head, slightly above the left ear,” added the DCI.
Detectives based at Butula arrived at the scene and found a jembe and a club that are believed to have been used to assault Juma.
