On the morning of July 20, veteran actor Charles Bukeko fondly known as Papa Shirandula was buried at his home in Nanderema, Busia County. The actor who died at the Karen Hospital in Nairobi after testing positive for COVID-19 was buried by public health officials as per the Ministry of Health body disposal guidelines. Only close family members were allowed near the grave.

During the burial, the actor’s wife Beatrice Andega accused the hospital of negligence after the staff allegedly delayed in attending to him on July 18.
"They didn't consider his condition an emergency and he died while we were at the waiting bay," she said.

The actor’s father Cosmas Bukeko also denied reports that the actor died from Covid-19 related complications.
“I'll travel to Nairobi and together with his wife, we shall engage a lawyer to get proper information from the hospital," he said.
