Diamond Platnumz hands out envelopes to the needy.

Diamond Platnumz has embarked on his mission to cushion the lives of less fortunate families in Tanzania that are unable to make ends meet due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The singer’s mother, Sandra Kasim announced the exciting news on her social media page saying that the main beneficiaries of the charity were mostly the crippled, widows and those that could not provide for their families completely.

“Siku ya leo bwana Naseeb aliweza kukamilisha awamu ya kwanza ya ahadi yake ya kuwalipia kodi watu 57 kati ya 500.

“Bado utaratibu unaendelea ili kukamilisha zoezi hilo. Ifahamike ya kwamba wahusika wakuu ni walemavu,wajane na wasiojiweza kabisa,” she wrote.

The mother of two went on to thank God for her son, showering him with blessings for the job well done.

“Allah azidi kukuongoza mwanangu Mungu akupe kila hitaji la moyo wako.Wengine wanatamani kusaidia wasiojiweza ila kipato chao ni kidogo. Wewe Mungu amekujaalia kipato na moyo wa kutoa pia. Sio wengi wanaojaaliwa kipato na moyo wa kutoa kama wako,” she continued.

Pledge

“I have decided to at least offer a helping hand by paying three months' house rent to 500 families as my kind gesture of helping one another during these terrible... On Monday I shall announce the procedure on how these 500 families shall receive house rent,” the Baba Lao crooner announced about a week ago.

This, however, is not the only way the celebrated star has helped in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak. In an interview with Wasafi TV, the father of four announced his willingness to give out his newly-acquired hotel to the government to be used as a quarantine centre.

"Nimenunua Hotel maeneo ya mikocheni, nimeshakabidhiwa documents zangu, ipo kwenye marekebisho kadhaa kisha nitaitambulisha. Hotel ile ambayo nimeinunua niko radhi niitoe kwa serekali kwa muda huu ili iweze kutumika kama quarantine," he said.

WCB affected by the virus

The virus hit close to home for Diamond after his Manager Sallam SK and producer Iraju Hamisi Mjege better known as Lizer Classic tested positive for the virus.

A section of the WCB crew including Diamond was put on mandatory quarantine and later tested negative for the virus after 14 days.
