A loud bang at Kenyatta University’s Post Modern Library on Monday, March 18 left several student scampering for safety, consequently turning into a nasty stampede.
According to information retrieved by SDE from various sources and seen social media posts, students mistook the loud bang for a terrorist attack and fled the library in panic mode, with others jumping from the library windows for safety.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that an elevator in the library malfunctioned, causing it to hit the ground.
No casualties have been reported. Students have however been advised to steer clear of the library as the relevant authorities take charge.
An official statement from the university has not yet been issued.
