No other celebrity in Kenya is as open, unhypocritical and always laced with emotions on social media as singer Akothee.
Akothee puts almost every bit of her life on social media. The good, the bad and even the ugly. So after former NTV presenter Kobi Kihara was trolled on Friday for faking her lifestyle on social media, definitely Akothee had some advice for her and other celebrities trying to live trendy on pennies.
“I live a better life than the one I present on social media," said Akothee.
"I have learnt to be true to myself than please human beings. That’s why it’s easier for me to do what I want, if you live a lie you doing harm to yourself, because you will have to explain each and every situation like my car is at the garage yet you have none!"
Kenyans attacked Kobi after discovering she had lifted quite a number of photos on social media and posted them as hers.
She later came out and apologized after the numerous trolls that might ended denting her brand in the long run.
Akothee gave celebrities a strategy she believes always works. She has used it herself as matter of fact, and we can all agree it does.
"Be you, and if they don't like it, let them beat you or unfollow you!" Said Akothee who always posts what she desires on social media.
"Live your life, fantasy is a killer of dreams, you will lie to people until the lies become part of your life and even end up lying to yourself, that's why most people end up living a lie because they can't face reality.
