Singer Otile Brown has officially confirmed to Heads Up that he is in a relationship with Vera Sidika.
“I don’t know why people think that we are staging a publicity stunt. They will be shocked how serious our relationship is. We have been dating for four months now, so if it was a publicity stunt, I guess by now we would have moved on.
“We have received offers from different brands for us to use our relationship and earn some money, but we have turned them down. I have already met her mother, who is such a lovely lady. I also met her brother whom we hang out with most of the time, especially when I have a gig in Mombasa,” he said.
When asked when they made it official and started dating, he said, “No one plans to fall in love, it just happens. We were good friends at first, but we both realised we loved each other. Every time either of us was away, we missed each other so much.
“We made it official when we realised our feelings were mutual. After spending much time with her, I got to know the real her, not what people see on social media. I fell in love with the Vera who is loving, caring, sensitive and a smart woman.
She has such a good heart. Next week, we will be heading to Kisumu and I want her to meet my grandmother and later my entire family.”
Otile also claimed he had no issue with posting their photos online.
“People have an issue when I post her on my social media pages. But I will not stop posting her photos because I love her.
“I have got so many DMs from people advising me to leave her ‘that she is not the kind of woman for me’ and she has gotten messages from my exes telling her all sorts of malicious things. We read those messages together and laugh about them,” added Otile.
About them living together, he said: “We have not moved in together but we live so close to each other. I live on Peponi Road and she lives in Kitusuru, so we are always in each other’s house. For now, we don’t want to rush things.”
