On the 12th of May, President Uhuru Kenyatta presided over the launch of the National tree planting day at the Moi Forces Academy in Nairobi.
The occasion, also attended by DP William Ruto and First Lady Margaret saw Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko cause a scene after he was left out of the program.
As DP Ruto stood to address the crowd, Sonko interjected in protest over claims of being overlooked.
“Your Excellency before you’re invited, I think the status program is very clear that I’m supposed to speak” stated an infuriated Sonko as the DP returned his seat.
According to Sonko, he was supposed to address the gathered crowd before the DP who would later introduce President Uhuru.
