Man stuns court, says he was planning to smoke 53 rolls of bhang to celebrate Easter

A young man charged with being in possession of narcotics has stunned a city court after he claimed that the bhang was meant Easter, his way of celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

According to the police, John Maina Wamboi was nabbed with 53 rolls of bhang within Kamukunji area after he was busted smoking it by police officers on patrol.

Upon being searched more rolls of bhang were found and admitted to having purchased the drugs to smoke during Easter.

“Indeed I was found with the drugs, but it was only meant to be for that day since we had to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” said Wamboi.

The Court ordered that he remain in police custody until the 17th day of April 2018 when a government analysis report will be availed to the court.
