Standard four pupil’s body finally recovered from Tala dam.
Machakos, Kenya: The body of a 10-year-old Standard four pupil who drowned last Sunday at Tala Dam during a swimming expedition in Machakos County was finally retrieved on Tuesday by divers.
The boy who is said to have been in the company of his peers reportedly disappeared into the deep waters after his improvised floater was blown away by wind.
Local divers were immediately called in for the rescue mission but failed to retrieve the victim after hours of desperate search.

Matungulu OCPD Joseph Chesire on Tuesday said that efforts to retrieve the body turned out successful when expert divers came in after intervention by the county government emergency rescue team.
Villagers watched in disbelief as the body of the small pupil at Katanywaa Primary school was pulled from the expansive dam.
His body was taken to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital mortuary.
