A 23-year-old student of Rongo University in Migori County is suspected to have died by suicide.
Police have since identified the deceased as Collins Kipkirui, a Third Year who was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Mathematics and Chemistry).
Police said students, who were heading to class, saw Kipkirui’s body hanging from a rope tied to a tree near the hostels.
South Kamagambo chief, Joseph Nyamanga, said no suicide note was found on the deceased.

Rongo University Vice-Chancellor Samuel Gudu said they were yet to establish the reason behind Kipkirui’s suspected suicide.
The student’s body was taken to Rosewood mortuary in Rongo Town.
