The High Court in Eldoret has directed feuding parties in a Sh500 million succession dispute ?— involving the estate of former Keiyo North MP William Murgor ?— to settle the matter through mediation.
The directive was issued by Justice Hellen Omondi, who has been presiding over the matter.
The late MP's children are tussling over huge tracts of agricultural and commercial land in Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet counties.
Among the children is Keiyo North MP James Murgor.
Some of the deceased’s daughters and sons have sued the MP for allegedly locking them out of their father’s wealth, terming the move discriminatory.

The Keiyo North MP, who is the administrator of the estate by virtue of him being the first born son, has been accused by his siblings for allegedly denying them fair share of their father’s estate.
In a suit filed by Enit Murgor on behalf of her siblings, they have accused their elder brother of being biased against his step-sisters and brothers in the distribution of the wealth.
In her court documents, she argues that the distribution of her father’s wealth disregards Keiyo customary law in cases of polygamy for equitable sharing according to households.
William Murgor, who was buried at his Kapkoi home in Elgeyo Marakwet, is survived by five wives and 25 children. The mediation process is set to start today.
