Shock has gripped a village in Kangundo Sub County in Machakos after a 30-year old man killed his four-year old son before committing suicide.
The man, who is so far unidentified, is said to have quarreled with his wife on Wednesday afternoon in Kyandili Village after which his wife reportedly fled to unknown place.
Villagers who visited the scene said he hanged his son with a rope on a mango tree then used the same rope to hang himself.
Kangundo OCPD Benjamin Ong'ombe who confirmed the incident said police are investigating the motive of the killing. No suicide note was found on the deceased.
The bodies have been removed to Kangundo hospital mortuary.
