Wahome Gakuru's driver to be charged with careless driving

The late Nyeri Governor Dr. Wahome Gakuru's driver, Samuel Kinyanjui,  will be arraigned at Kigumo Court .

Kinyanjui has been charged with causing death by careless driving which led to the death of Governor Wahome Gakuru on November 6 at Kabati along the Thika- Murang'a Highway. He was pronounced dead on arrival  at Thika Level 5 Hospital.

This new development comes barely a week after Mr Kinyanjui, who has been nursing injuries from the  accident, narrated emotionally how he attempted to avoid the accident, only to veer off the road.

Meanwhile, burial arrangements for the governor are underway, both at the national and county levels spearheaded by ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru and the newly sworn in Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga.

Gakuru will be buried at his Kirichu home in Nyeri County on Saturday.
