Western leaders who defected from NASA to Jubilee have dismissed claims that they won’t deliver votes for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
At a rally on Sunday, NASA leader Raila Odinga said the defectors had no votes for Uhuru since the Western region was strongly behind him (Raila).
Paul Otuoma, Alfred Khang’ati, Moses Akaranga and Yusuf Chanzu have, however, vowed to double the votes Uhuru got in the August election.
Mr Otuoma, who contested the Busia governorship and lost to ODM’s Sospeter Ojaamong, said the minimum votes he would deliver for Uhuru from the county is 100,000.
“I want to tell Raila that the minimum votes we will deliver to Uhuru is double what he (Uhuru) got in August,” said Otuoma.

“If we will not manage that, then Raila should come for a bull,” he added.
Together with former Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba, they vowed to ensure NASA is locked out of the county.
Khang’ati, who lost the Bungoma governorship to Ford Kenya’s Wycliffe Wangamati, said he would ensure Uhuru gets more votes from the county.
“I was at the forefront in Raila’s campaigns but he took my support for granted and instead frustrated me. I am going to be at the forefront again to ensure he loses votes in the county,” said Khang’ati.
Akaranga, Chanzu and former speaker Kenneth Marende affirmed they will ensure Uhuru gets five times the votes he got in Vihiga County.
The leaders also dismissed claims they defected to Jubilee for their own personal interests.
