These people share the same challenges, jump open sewers and risk life together for survival.

But an overfed politician, driving tax fuelled guzzlers, living in leafy suburbs and with multiple high rise buildings coming up with our taxes will soon appear and convince them why they are different because they don't speak the same mother tongue.

Tribalism in Kenya has led many people to despise one another, beat or even kill. The winning of elections in Kenya is mainly based on if the politician is ‘mtu wetu’, which should not be the case. Kenyans should not allow politicians manipulate them into thinking that one tribe is better than the other because we are all equal.

You need the other person to survive regardless of which language they speak. Realizing that we are equal and shun away tribalism is the first step to making Kenya a better country.
