Malindi parliamentary aspirant Aisha Jumwa has accused the IEBC of plotting to lock her out of the polls.
Jumwa, the Kilifi Woman MP, was on Friday summoned by Malindi IEBC officials and warned that she risks being barred from running over allegations of hate speech.
Jumwa and Governor Amason Kingi asked IEBC on Saturday not to interfere with the campaigns.
"Efforts to have me barred will be met with hostility from the electorate," she said.
They were addressing church leaders from Malindi. Jumwa's name appears in a National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) list of politicians whose conduct should be monitored for hate speech and incitement.
