The main reason users of accounts such as Facebook, Twitter and Gmail will never forget their passwords is because they frequently visit their accounts.
Every holder of Kenya Revenue Authority PIN also has an account, the revolutionary iTax portal, which has revolutionised not only filing of tax returns but also paying taxes without necessarily visiting any of the tax agency’s offices.
To many taxpayers, the iTax platform is synonymous with filing tax returns and making tax payments only, hence they get to interact with the system only once a year.
However, there is a lot more to this platform other than filing of returns which if taxpayers navigate on a regular basis, cases such as that of forgotten passwords will be a thing of the past.

Apart from filing a return, a taxpayer is now empowered by the system to make the application for a tax compliance certificate on iTax. The icing on the cake is that the certificate is sent to the applicant’s email account. This has not only significantly reduced trips to KRA but also enhanced service delivery.
If you are employed and you would like to ascertain if your employer has been remitting your Pay As You Earn (PAYE) deductions, you do not need to visit the taxman. The Ledger tab on your iTax account which enables you to view your ledger report comes in handy.
You are also empowered to amend your PIN profile details such as your email address, your phone number, your KRA station and many more under the registration tab on yout iTax profile. Every taxpayer, therefore, needs to frequently visit their iTax account to familiarise themselves with the various self service functions on the platform.
