The proposed Kenya Qualifications Framework which seeks to provide one stop accreditation, teaching, assessment and evaluation for qualification and accreditation starting next year is a step in the right direction.

It also behooves the Commission on University Education to look at problems bedeviling our universities like inadequate staff and infrastructure as well as poor quality of education and standards to redeem the downmarket image of our universities.
