Reason why Jubilee’s laptops initiative is misplaced

The Jubilee government is yet to focus on priorities of pupils even as it rolls out the free laptops to primary schools in Kenya.

Some pupils still sit on stones as chairs, learn under trees and have no electricity to power the expected laptops.

In countries where digital learning has succeeded like Rwanda, such setbacks were first tackled.

It sounds very elusive to Kenyans when the Government insists on delivering the free laptops to schools when it has neglected the plight of public schools.

The Jubilee government should be realistic in tackling problems facing learners.
