Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua embarrassed the Kamba community by claiming that the appointment of Dr Cleophas Mailu as Health Cabinet secretary was a favour from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Dr Mutua is still stuck in politics of Kanu era where sycophancy was the order of the day. By claiming that the President has “remembered” the Kamba community, the governor was simply strategising politically.
Unnecessary pouring of praises on the Head of State for doing what he was elected to do is not in our interest, and I suggest it would be better done in private.
